Welcome to Rockford for Home Rule, the campaign to return home rule authority to the great city of Rockford, Illinois. As long-time residents committed to helping our community succeed, we are honored to be co-chairing this citizen-led effort to return local control to Rockford.

The election on March 20, 2018, will be a defining moment for our community. We have the opportunity to take back control from Springfield and return it to where it belongs; in the hands of leaders we know and trust who are accountable to local voters. We hope you’ll spend some time on this website learning more about home rule and the opportunities it can provide to ease the burden on local property owners and help us move forward as a community.

Home rule can be complicated and that’s why we’ll be talking with dozens of groups and hundreds of residents between now and the election to help you understand this critical issue. We’ll be hosting educational forums across the city where you can learn about home rule and have your questions answered.

We think you’ll agree a vote YES on March 20 is a vote to move Rockford forward.
